As the German National Library of Science and Technology, our future-oriented services ensure the infrastructural requirements for a high-quality supply of information and literature for research in science and industry. With the Open Research Knowledge Graph (ORKG), we are working to revolutionise the exchange and use of scientific knowledge in the digital age.
Your role
The Data Science & Digital Libraries Research Group conducts research at the intersection of knowledge representation, knowledge graphs, neurosymbolic AI and large language models. Our work focuses in particular on the scholarly and scientific domain, where we develop AI-based methods and tools for representing, analysing and using complex scientific information.
A key objective of our research is to improve the reasoning capabilities, robustness and interpretability of AI systems by combining symbolic and neural AI approaches. In this context, we investigate how knowledge graphs and large language models can be integrated to support reliable AI applications for scholarly research and scientific communication.
The position is partly funded through the EU-funded project FFplus - Fortissimo Plus and is embedded in TIB’s broader research activities on AI for scientific communication, knowledge graphs and large language models. In this context, the position contributes to the development, specialization and validation of HPC-supported AI/language models.
