Working Student (f/m/d) Mathematics, Economics, Business Informatics or Data Science

Working field:

We are the Middle Office team at the European Energy Exchange, ensuring that trading runs smoothly and securely behind the scenes. We support our front office by developing tools and mathematical models, integrating new products into our trading systems, and collaborating closely with our sales department to introduce schemes that attract more liquidity to our order books. While we don’t interact directly with customers, we work hand-in-hand with all key teams within EEX.

Your tasks:
As a working student in our Middle Office team, you will support us in our daily operations, data analysis, preparation of market animation schemes, and coordination between teams. You’ll be involved in meetings and gain valuable insights into how trading works behind the scenes. You don’t need to know everything from the start—we’ll guide you and value your fresh perspective. This is a great opportunity to learn about financial markets and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. Requirements:

  • Ongoing studies in mathematics, business informatics, economics, data science, business management, or administration at a university or university of applied sciences (FH) in Germany
  • Availability to work as a student for at least 3 to 4 semesters (at least until spring 2027)
  • Confident use of commonly used programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, R, VBA, and the MS Office suite (especially Excel)
  • Willingness to work regularly on-site in our office (remote work possible in alignment with the team lead)
  • Initiative, reliability, and a collaborative mindset
  • A hands-on mentality and attention to detail
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in both English and German
