Mergers and acquisitions internship for 6-8 months in full-time

Working field:

The M&A team of EEX Group is seeking a highly motivated intern to support our work. Our team executes on inorganic growth opportunities that help accelerate EEX Group’s development. We work in close collaboration with the diverse business units across the group and focus on process steps such as target identification, valuation, due diligence and project management, incl. alignment with all relevant stakeholders. In your role as intern, you support the team in their project tasks. For example, you conduct desk research on competitors, M&A targets and growth opportunities in the energy sector. You create crisp summaries and adjust the format of your work to the respective target group. Also, you will be tasked to create slides for reporting purposes, be it to the Management Board or other Committees. In our dynamic team of experts, we offer you the possibility to develop and dive into the exciting world of exchange trading and energy markets. Requirements:

  • Ongoing enrolment in Bachelor or Master studies at a German university in economics, business studies or finance
  • Availability in full-time for 6-8 months internship and ready to work on site in our office in Leipzig
  • A keen interest in the energy sector and exchange trading
  • Ideally, you have already gained some first practical experiences in the area of corporate finance or M&A
  • An autonomous way of working and the ability to deliver results in an agreed timeframe
  • Analytical skills to summarize and communicate complex topics, as well as conceptual knowledge in the field of financial analysis and business valuation
  • You are a team player and fond of open and transparent communication
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, German is a plus
