The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

start­ing as soon as pos­sible. The pos­i­tion is lim­ited until Janu­ary 31, 2023. The period of employ­ment is gov­erned by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Con­tracts Act (Wis­senschaft­szeitver­trags­ge­setz – Wis­sZeitVG). The research con­tract also allows for work­ing from remote. This will be dis­cussed dur­ing the job inter­view.

Working field:

We seek applic­a­tions from research­ers who are inter­ested in human-com­puter inter­ac­tion and demon­strat­ing, within the scope of our cur­rent sci­entific research activ­it­ies. The main task of this per­son is to lead the design of data acquis­i­tion and human-com­puter inter­ac­tion meth­ods based on exist­ing research res­ults, as well as the optim­iz­a­tion of the avail­able inter­ac­tion meth­ods to improve their per­form­ance (e.g., vis­ib­il­ity, usab­il­ity, etc.) in the sci­entific com­munity.

Requirements:

Uni­versity degree (Dip­loma/Mas­ter) in com­puter sci­ence, phys­ics, math­em­at­ics, Tech­nical Inform­a­tion Design and Tech­nical Com­mu­nic­a­tion, or equi­val­ent. Know­ledge of HTML, python, JavaS­cript, and CSS are import­ant. Can­did­ates should be pro­fi­cient in Eng­lish and have good oral and writ­ten com­mu­nic­a­tion skills. Strong pro­gram­ming and web devel­op­ing skills are highly recom­men­ded.
