At the Faculty of Computer Science, Institute of Artificial Intelligence, the Chair of Machine Learning for Robotics offers a position as
Research Associate / PostDoc (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 14 TV-L)
starting as soon as possible. The position is initially limited until March 26, 2028. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). A shorter contract term is possible by arrangement.

Working field:

— defining and leading new research directions in the field of Robotic Manipulation, and more generally Robot Learning, Touch Sensing, Robotics, and/or Machine Learning
— supervision of Bachelor/Master/PhD students
— engagement in teaching activities of the lab
— support of administrative processes of the lab, including grant writing

Requirements:

— university and PhD degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related fields
— past experience with Machine Learning algorithms and systems
— past experience with robot control and operation
— programming experience with ROS, C/C++, Python and/or PyTorch
— experience in operation and administration under Linux
— fluency in technical and non-technical English
— a high degree of independence, commitment, team spirit, and good communication skills in the support of our research team.
— (optional) past experience with multi-finger robotics hands
— (optional) past experience with tactile sensors
