Your responsibility:

Research in a DFG cooperation project in the field of wide bandgap power semiconductors: Measurement, characterization and analysis of new power semiconductors based on gallium oxide (Ga2O3), in particular research into switching behavior in hard- and soft-switching converters; investigations into thermal properties; simulation and modeling of the semiconductors for use in circuit simulation.
There is the possibility of pursuing a doctorate.

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master or equivalent) in electrical engineering or physics; very good degree expected
  • Very good knowledge of power electronics, power semiconductors, measurement techniques, and experiences in electronic hardware development;
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English (written and spoken) required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills; - Good knowledge of written and spoken German language desirable
  • Solid foundations of scientific work and writng
  • Practical experience in the development of power converters, knowledge about EMI desirable
  • Knowledge about wide bandgap power semiconductors desirable
  • Knowledge about converter control techniques and experience in programming of microcontrollers desirable
