Working field:

We are looking for support in the EVUR department in the working group “Reactive Multiphase Flows - Experiment and Simulation” to participate in the BMBF-funded “HydroCycling” project. The aim of this project is to establish a process for the chemical recycling of plastic waste through hydrogenation.

The candidate will be responsible for the experimental design and operation of a 2-liter high pressure autoclave to test various process conditions for the chemical recycling of pure and mixed plastic waste. He/She is also responsible for further analysis and identification of the polymer and products during and after the experiments, e.g., B. Micro-GC, GC-MS, GC-FID and simulated distillation. The results are then discussed and exchanged in the multidisciplinary team.


  • Successfully completed scientific university studies (diploma, master, or equivalent) in the field of chemical engineering, process engineering, or related disciplines
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
  • Laboratory experience
  • Experience with GC (GC-MS, GC-FID, or Micro GC)


  • Good programming skills (Python, Matlab, etc.)
  • Experience with simulated distillation
  • Experience with hydrogenation
