Research Assistant - 0.5 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

The department of Empirical Health Economics works on applied research in the fields of Health Economic Evaluations, Global Health, Health Inequalities and quantitative Health Services Research. The cooperations with economists, physicians, Public Health researchers and veterinarians in Europe, Asia and Africa create an interdisciplinary and international work environment.
The open position is part of an interdisciplinary and international research project, where novel diagnostic procedures for lymph node tuberculosis will be tested in Bangladesh and Uganda. The main tasks of the successful candidate will be the statistical analyses and health economic evaluation, as well as the preparation of scientific publications.

Working field:

  • Work on the "Mobile-TB-Lab" research project
  • Support with further grant applications
  • Participation in further activities of the department

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Economics, Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Mathematics or equivalent, or in Publle Health
  • profound knowledge of quanfitative research methods
  • profound knowledge of health economic evaluations
  • programming skills (R, Matlab, Gauss, Python)
  • excellent knowledge of German and English. language (both written and spoken)

Desirable further qualifications
  • willingness to work with advances statistical models, e.g. simulation, Markov Chain modeling, ...)
  • willingness to work in interdisciplinary and International teams
  • willingness to travel to countries of the Global South
  • first research experlences in health economics or public health are an advantage
