For the project ELPHY (electronic laboratory notebooks and FAIR data in physics laboratory courses), we are looking for a research assistant with a strong interest in teaching who wishes to contribute to incorporating recent developments in concepts of sustainable management of research data into the teaching program of the department of physics at TU Berlin. The project aims to introduce electronic laboratory notebooks and FAIR data to the beginners' laboratory courses in physics.

Working field:

Existing lab-course experiments shall be adapted to the use of electronic lab notebooks. In some cases, this may require the (partial) development of new experiments. Teaching and training material for students and supervisors of experiments shall be developed. Current developments in the field as represented by the National Research Data Infrastructure and its consortia need to be monitored and taken into account. Results of the project shall be made public by conference contributions, publications, and at events like the Long Night of Science.


  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or another STEM discipline
  • strong interest in data and workflow management and in current developments within the scientific community
  • teaching skills (ideally experience with laboratory courses)
  • ability to work in a team; excellent communication skills
  • proficiency in German (spoken and written)
