Working field:

The selected candidates will have opportunities to work in an enriching interdisciplinary environment, with significant potential for broad impact in terms of technology development, industry involvement, and educational initiatives. They are expected to develop a research program regarding to the research topics of the 6G Research Innovation Center (6G-RIC), focused on innovative solutions for future Wireless Communication Systems beyond 5G. In particular this research project focuses on User-Centric Networks, Distributed Antenna Systems, Scalable Cell-free Massive MIMO, Massive Random Access for machine-type communications, and more in general on the related signal processing and source and coding problems, system concept and optimization, and information theoretic analysis. The positions are open for candidates with a Phd degree but also for candidates with the intention to write a Phd thesis.

Requirements:

Candidates must have an successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in a
field related to Science of Information, e.g. Information Theory, Communication Systems and Networks, Stochastic Geometry, Large Random Matrices, Statistical Signal Processing and Wireless Networking. A doctoral degree is desirable, but not a requirement. Applicants must have a solid track record in one or more research fields in the discipline. Furthermore, candidates should have excellent English oral and written communication skills (proficiency in German is a plus).
