Fraunhofer-Institut für Integrierte Schaltungen - Institutsteil Entwurfsautomatisierung

Adaptivity is an indispensable property for the networked world of tomorrow. Intelligent components can detect and evaluate changes in the environment or in the system itself and adapt to them independently. As a partner of industry, Fraunhofer IIS/EAS develops key technologies for adaptive systems with about 110 employees at the Dresden site and offers innovative technologies and robust solutions.

Among other things, we work on methods supporting Design for Reliability. That is, our activities are committed to supporting designers of integrated circuits (IC) in achieving their targets for product lifetime. In particular, we transfer information on the degradation of integrated transistors, e.g. due to hot carrier injection (HCI) and bias temperature instability (BTI), into environments for IC design.
